About the Organization & Opportunity: Our client is well established in the telecom industry Employees describe the company as having great people and management is always showing employees how much they are appreciated Great team environment to ask questions General Ledger Accountant Location: Herndon, VA - Position will be 100% in-office for training then offer a more flexible schedule on work location Responsibilities: General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for full charge general ledger accounting General Ledger Accountant will complete balance sheet reconciliations General Ledge Accountant will make month end journal entries (accruals and deferrals) General Ledger Accountant will complete revenue file review and upload invoicing. Will receive a file from billing (possibly daily) that the General Ledger Accountant will import into accounting system and review for accuracy. General Ledger Accountant will be responsible or monthly reporting into consolidation system and intercompany reconciliations. Will push a button in Cognos to update and tie everything out. General Ledger Accountant will complete ad hoc tasks and projects, as requested Requirements: 5 years of general ledger accounting experience Degree - at least an associate's in accounting Associate's degree in accounting required at a minimum Excel - Pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, creating basic spreadsheets, formulas, importing information Able to review and analyze data to make sure everything is in balance.
