Posting Description EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO VICE PRESIDENT FOR
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AND DIRECTOR, MIT WASHINGTON DC OFFICE , Office
of the President , provides complex and diverse administrative
support to the Vice President for Government Affairs and Director
of the MIT Washington Office, including travel, meeting/calendar
management, and phone coverage; supports the Senior Policy Advisor
and Policy Associate with travel arrangements, expense reporting,
and meeting registration; provides support to the Vice President
when VP travels to the Cambridge, MA campus; reviews, triages, and
files all incoming emails for the VP; works closely with the
Operations and Communications Manager; serves as main points of
contact for the Washington Office; assists with logistics of Office
programs and events (i.e. internship programs and congressional
seminars), including creating invitations, tracking responses,
registering attendees, identifying locations, coordinating AV
set-up, organizing travel, distributing program materials, and
arranging for catering; and help maintain the databases containing
important contacts for the office. Job Requirements REQUIRED : A
minimum of seven years of administrative, office, or related
experience; high school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of Capitol
Hill and the operations of the federal government; excellent
organizational and administrative skills and the ability to respond
quickly to shifting priorities; excellent interpersonal skillsHigh
school diploma or equivalent along with the ability to build and
maintain strong relationships with the internal and external
community; strong communication skills, initiative, accuracy, and
reliability; ability to work independently and with others in the
office to handle sensitive and confidential matters; excellent
computer skills, with Macintosh experience preferred; and knowledge
of Word and Excel. PREFERRED : Bachelor’s degree; knowledge of
PowerPoint, Adobe design tools; and strong internet research
skills. This position is based in Washington DC. 3/2/2026
