Job Description:
Database Administrator Manager (Sterling, VA) Duties: Maintain database backup/recovery environments, and
review overall physical database structures for data integrity, performance
quality, recoverability, maintenance, and space requirement
considerations. Triage and troubleshoot issues for the RDBMS and platform environments,
including Linux (Redhat, CentOS) and AIX, and facilitate application
development and client problem resolution. Monitor file system space and
database allocation, and verify efficient use of disk storage in order to
optimize space allocation. Refresh data from one environment to another
at the request of the application development staff; execute necessary
tasks to accomplish this, including export, drop, create, and import
pre-scheduled time to minimize impact; provide application development staff
optimal development environment with current data. Automate procedures
and reorganize or defragment database table spaces, tables, and
indexes in order to provide efficient database environments, maximize
productivity, and improve performance. Education and Experience: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and three
(3) years of experience administering and supporting Oracle Enterprise
databases, or in the alternative, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in
Computer Scienc Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a
related field and fi and five (5) years of experience as indicated above. Special Requirements: Also requires demonstrated expertise (DE): designing database
architecture in including ASM for storage and RAC for developing Oracle
solutions; DE ut utilizing the DataGuard methodology for disaster relief; DE
utilizing Go Golden Gate to perform data migration between databases; DE
writing shell sc scripts to automate tasks, setting parameters and managing
various op operating systems, including AIX, Linux, RedHat, and Centos; and
DE in interfacing with customers for the collection of requirements
and im implementation, including development to production
environments, im implementing database monitoring, and performance
