Services VADD Construction Services is a growing construction and
engineering firm supporting missioncritical infrastructure
projects, including hyperscale and enterprise data centers. We
specialize in highreliability environments where safety, precision,
and performance are nonnegotiable. Position Summary VADD
Construction Services is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer Data
Centers to support the design, coordination, and execution of
electrical systems for missioncritical facilities. This role
focuses on power distribution, redundancy, and reliability for data
center environments, working closely with construction,
commissioning, and client teams to deliver highquality solutions.
Key Responsibilities Support electrical engineering and project
execution for data center projects (greenfield, expansions, and
renovations/repurposed facilities) Perform engineering calculations
and develop conceptual electrical layouts, one-line diagrams, test
fits, and bridging documents for turnover to the Engineer of Record
(EOR) Design and evaluate electrical systems including: Medium- and
low-voltage power distribution UPS systems, generators, and backup
power architectures (N, N1, 2N) Switchgear, switchboards,
panelboards, transformers, and RPPs Grounding, bonding, and
lightning protection systems Conduct site surveys and field
verification to confirm constructability of conceptual electrical
layouts (travel required) Coordinate with electrical equipment
manufacturers and representatives to evaluate long-lead equipment,
confirm lead times, and support development of construction
schedules Prepare and review electrical drawings, calculations, and
technical specifications Coordinate electrical designs with
mechanical, structural, architectural, IT, and construction teams
Participate in bid leveling by reviewing contractor scopes,
identifying exclusions, and providing technical input to support
award recommendations Act as an Electrical Owners Representative,
supporting: EOR coordination and electrical drawing reviews
Submittal reviews for compliance with contract documents and owner
standards Field reviews to confirm installation compliance with
approved documents (travel required) Support commissioning
activities, including commissioning agent (CxA) scope review, test
script review, witnessing testing as needed, and tracking open
items through completion Assist with project closeout, including
documentation tracking (as-builts, O&M manuals), punch/open
item resolution, and turnover coordination Serve as an electrical
SME throughout the project lifecyclehelping resolve field issues,
coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, and providing
practical solutions to keep work progressing Support load
calculations, short-circuit studies, arc-flash analysis, and
selective coordination Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE,
local AHJ requirements, and client standards Collaborate with
project managers to support schedules, budgets, and scope Perform
other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelors degree
in Electrical Engineering or related field 5 years of electrical
design experience, preferably in data centers or missioncritical
facilities Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and
redundancy architectures (N, N1, 2N) Proficiency with design tools
such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, or similar Solid understanding
of NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards Ability to read and interpret
construction documents and specifications Strong communication and
coordination skills Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer
(PE) license or ability to obtain Experience with hyperscale or
enterprise data center projects Familiarity with commissioning
processes and integrated systems testing Experience working in
designbuild or fasttrack construction environments Knowledge of
energy efficiency, sustainability, or power usage effectiveness
(PUE) Work Environment & Travel Combination of office, remote, and
onsite project work Occasional travel to job sites as required by
