Job Description:
The Data Center Field Engineering Team is the engineering owner
for the lifecycle of AWS data centers. This includes supporting new
designs/innovations through data center end-of-life, with a focus
on root cause analysis of failures, capacity and availability
improvement, and optimization of the existing fleet. We're looking
for an experienced Manager, Technical Program Management to join
our Field Engineering global programs team dedicated to leading,
mentoring, and coaching our team of skilled Technical Program
Managers. You will hire & lead a diverse and creative team solving
technical problems across our global Amazon Data Centers to scale
and improve business practices around the world. The ideal
candidate combines deep technical knowledge of data center
operations with strong business acumen. You should be comfortable
diving deep into technical details while maintaining a clear focus
on improving efficiency, availability, and reliability in our data
centers. You'll need to effectively influence across organizations
to build consensus on complex technical decisions, and drive
execution through multiple engineering teams. If you're excited

hear from you. Key job responsibilities Team Leadership &
Development • Hire, develop, and manage a team of program managers
and technical leads who demonstrate Amazon Leadership Principles •
Coach and mentor team members with varying technical experience,
establishing clear growth plans and development strategies for each
individual • Manage team and individual performance, including
promotions and career progression • Lead and motivate teams to
deliver on strategic objectives while fostering a culture of
operational excellence Strategic Program Management • Own and drive
the Field Engineering Portfolio strategy across all programs •
Influence strategic direction and roadmaps of partner teams across
Data Center Operations, Data Center Engineering, and AWS Service
Teams • Make trade-offs between short-term team needs and long-term
business objectives using high judgment Operational Excellence &
Process Improvement • Create, improve, and manage metrics
quantifying performance and driving efficiencies in repeatable work
• Drive engineering processes to improve operational excellence,
development methodology, and cross-team collaboration • Identify
where to simplify and optimize while maintaining quality standards

to that vision. As a Field Engineering Technical Program Manager,
you will be leading teams to optimize global programs to meet
ever-evolving customer needs as we continue expanding our data
center fleet to hyper-scale. As an ideal candidate you: • Possess
Strong Engineering Judgement and are able to provide
recommendations despite uncertainty • Are detail and data oriented
• Have experience managing engineering projects. • Build trust and
relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations,
Commissioning, Construction and Design) • Up to 25% travel

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related
technical field - 5 years of people management experience - 5 years
of technical program management experience - 5 years of industrial
or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including
but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas
facilities experience - Knowledge of data center infrastructure
design, operations, or delivery - Experience communicating across
technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level
stakeholders or clients - Experience managing projects across cross
functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating
release schedules - Experience with Agile or other program

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
compensation will be determined based on factors including
experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers
