Location: Lanham ,MD Assignment: 14 Weeks | Night 5x8-Hour Guaranteed Hours: 40 Weekly Pay Package Weekly Tax Free Stipend to be paid $1,428.00 Weekly Straight Pay (Taxable) $1,360.00 Weekly Overtime Pay (Taxable) $0.00 Weekly Gross $2,788.00 Job Summary The RN Unit Manager is responsible for the overall clinical, administrative, and operational management of an assigned nursing unit. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. The Unit Manager provides leadership, staff supervision, performance management, and coordination of interdisciplinary care to support optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Patient Care Oversight Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care within the unit Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control, and safety standards Leadership & Staff Management Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff and support personnel Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and assignments to ensure adequate coverage Promote a positive work environment that supports teamwork, accountability, and professional development Address employee performance, coaching, and corrective actions as needed Administrative & Operational Management Oversee daily unit operations, including budgeting, supplies, and equipment Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, state regulations) Participate in policy development and implementation Monitor unit performance metrics such as quality indicators, patient satisfaction, and staffing efficiency Education & Compliance Support orientation, training, and ongoing education for nursing staff Ensure staff maintain required licensure, certifications, and competencies Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities Qualifications & Requirements Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Leadership preferred Licensure & Certification Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or specialty certifications preferred or required based on unit type Experience Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Assistant Manager) required or strongly preferred Experience in staff management, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance Skills & Competencies Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and staffing systems Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the unit for extended periods Ability to respond to emergencies and provide clinical support when needed Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or on-call shifts as required Apply now to start your next travel adventure!
