Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide skilled nursing care in a cardiovascular stepdown unit specializing in patients recovering from cardiac surgery. This role demands expertise in managing cardiac telemetry, including chest tubes and dysrhythmia, to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the post-ICU phase. Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiovascular stepdown patients post-cardiac surgery Monitor and manage telemetry for dysrhythmias and critical cardiac events Provide skilled management of chest tubes and related postoperative care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system following required training Adhere to facility protocols, infection control, and safety standards Qualifications: Active VA or Compact Registered Nurse License BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with strong background in cardiac tele/stepdown nursing Experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmia in cardiac surgical patients Familiarity with cardiovascular stepdown unit patient care and telemetry monitoring EPIC training or willingness to complete specified clinician documentation classes Schedule: Dayshift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 19:00) Every other weekend on-call rotation Benefits & Perks: Contract position with a 13-week duration Supportive clinical environment with ongoing training Opportunity to work in a specialized cardiovascular care unit Potential assistance with EPIC training modules as required This contract role offers a rewarding opportunity to advance your cardiovascular nursing skills while contributing to specialized post-cardiac surgical care.
