Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization
centered in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area, is currently seeking a
dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team on the 5
West Surgical Unit. This position offers the opportunity to work in
a patient-centered environment that values groundbreaking medical
procedures and attention to detailed personal care. The successful
candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to
surgical patients, supporting both pre- and post-operative care
processes, and working collaboratively with surgeons,
anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver
exceptional healthcare services. Assess, plan, implement, and
evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare
team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the
attending physician. Monitor patient recovery and adjust treatment
plans as necessary. Maintain a compassionate environment by
providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to
patients and their families. Ensure that all patient care
activities are conducted in compliance with both institutional and
healthcare standards. Participate in departmental staff meetings
and professional development sessions. Strong clinical skills with
a focus on surgical care. Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills. Proven ability to work effectively in both independent and
team environments. Adept at handling multiple tasks and
prioritizing responsibilities in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of
health and safety standards and compliance requirements Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland or a
compact state. BLS Certification required; ACLS preferred.
Certification in surgical nursing (CNRN or CSSM) is
advantageous.
