MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare provider in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated PRN X-Ray Technologist to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a patient-first environment that covers a comprehensive range of healthcare services. As a PRN (Pro Re Nata, or as needed) X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging studies as prescribed by physicians, while ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to high-quality patient care. Perform X-ray imaging and other diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians. Ensure all radiographic examinations are conducted with the utmost sensitivity to radiation dose and privacy standards. Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members to evaluate imaging results. Adjust and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it operates at optimal levels. Provide instructions to patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety and comfort. Proficiency in operating various radiographic (X-ray) and imaging equipment. Strong understanding of radiological safety standards and protocols. Excellent patient management skills to enhance comfort and cooperation. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Certified and registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). Valid state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (if applicable).
