Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization in
the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated
Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). In
this role, you will leverage your expertise to provide top-tier
care for patients needing a high level of monitoring and frequent
assessment but who aren't in critical condition. You will work
within a dynamic team setting to monitor patient conditions,
administer medications, and collaborate with other healthcare
professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate care tailored
to the needs of each patient. Monitor and assess the health status
of patients in the Intermediate Care Unit, responding swiftly to
changes in condition. Administer medications accurately and safely,
and provide treatments as prescribed by physicians. Maintain
detailed and accurate patient records, documenting all patient
interactions and interventions. Communicate effectively with
patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure a cohesive
approach to patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary team
meetings to discuss patient care and progress. Educate patients and
their families on post-hospital care, promoting continued health
and wellbeing. Strong clinical skills with a focus on critical care
or step-down care Ability to make swift decisions in high-pressure
situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in using medical technologies and patient information

Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular
Life Support (ACLS) certification required
