This vital role will focus on providing top-tier critical care to patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. As an ICU Nurse at MedStar Health, you will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement of nursing practices. Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Monitor patient health conditions, administer medications, update patient records accurately and ensure continuity of care. Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to devise individualized care plans for patients. Educate patients and their families on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention. Operate and monitor medical equipment and perform life-preserving interventions in a critical care setting. Strong clinical skills in a critical care environment Excellent decision-making and multitasking skills Compassionate patient and family communications Proficient in electronic health records and medical software Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
