a DifferenceAs a Principal Scientist on our team, you'll lead and
drive translational bioinformatics strategy and data science
efforts across discovery and clinical programs. We are looking for
exceptional candidates with deep analytical expertise and strategic
thinking abilities who can effectively partner with
cross-functional teams, lead data science components of
translational plans, and communicate scientific insights to
influence program direction.The "Fine Print" - What You'll Do
- Lead the design and execution of bioinformatics strategies to
support biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and
translational research across early and late-stage programs.
- Drive integrative analysis of high-dimensional, multi-modal
datasets including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, imaging,
and clinical endpoints.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to biomarker leads, clinical
scientists, and therapeutic teams, proactively identifying
data-driven opportunities and shaping project direction.
- Develop and manage workflows for raw NGS data (e.g., scRNA-seq,
RNA-seq, exome) and clinical datasets, ensuring data is
analysis-ready and integrated with relevant covariates.
- Apply modern statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI
methods to uncover actionable insights and support key program
decisions.
- Work cross-functionally with experimental and clinical teams to
design and implement translational studies, including statistical
analysis plans and study population criteria.
- Analyze data and interpret results from clinical trials and of
data from non-trial sources to facilitate program-level decision
making.
- Collaborate with Biometrics on the programming of tables,
figures and listings to support decision making and for regulatory
reporting.
- Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to define
requirements for infrastructure (e.g., AWS cloud, pipelines, LIMS)
and ensure seamless data flow and reproducibility.
- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to diverse
audiences, including technical peers, leadership, and external
partners.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with experimental
scientists, internal and external stakeholders, including Research,
Clinical and Regulatory teams to support multidisciplinary
projects.Skills and Experience We Look For
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or
a related field, with 8+ years of experience, including at least 3
years in biotech/pharma translational or clinical research.
- Demonstrated leadership in designing and owning bioinformatics
strategies that impact biomarker or clinical development.
- Deep expertise in classical and modern statistical methods,
including regression modeling, feature selection, survival
analysis, and multi-variable modeling in clinical datasets.
- Proficiency in modern ML/AI techniques (e.g., random forests,
XGBoost, SVM, deep learning) and their application to
high-dimensional biological or clinical data as well as biomarker
discovery.
- Strong coding proficiency in R and Python, especially with
regards to statistical packages, adaptation, development and
deployment; comfortable working in Unix-based environments.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred) and
data infrastructure concepts such as pipelines, data lakes, and
reproducibility best practices.
- Proven ability to handle NGS and multi-omics data end-to-end,
from raw data to insight, working with bulk RNA-seq, single-cell
RNAseq, whole exome sequencing, spatial RNAseq and other as
needed.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with
experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and leading
interdisciplinary projects.Rewards at ArcellxOur people are our

compensation and benefits.The base salary range for this position
is $160,000 - $175,000 per year. Where a candidate falls within
that range is determined by factors such as years of experience.
Our compensation package also includes an annual bonus based on
company goals and an equity (RSU) grant. We do offer relocation
