The Opportunity

Our client is a local multigenerational equipment manufacturing company and has hired us to seek out a Buyer for their Hanover, PA location.



This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for purchasing raw materials, products, and services in support of production while working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.



Other responsibilities include:

Managing the purchasing cycle, including requisitions, purchase orders, delivery tracking, and payment of direct and indirect materials
Analyzing material demand through MRP and other methods to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent manufacturing stock-outs
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, including gathering performance metrics and identifying supply base risks
Securing competitive pricing, identifying cost savings opportunities, and leading cost savings initiatives from RFQ through implementation



Qualifications include:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, buying, and/or related field preferred
Manufacturing experience and understanding of supply chain management preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and experience with ERP systems such as Epicor or SAP
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects and tasks
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with all internal and external stakeholders
