Job Overview:

In 2024, we embarked on an ambitious initiative to build the T-Mobile Cloud, designed to support the most demanding Engineering workloads. As we move into 2025, we are preparing to deploy this cloud solution into production, with a clear focus on migrating a diverse range of critical applications. These applications require robust network and security capabilities, and we are committed to enhancing our automation processes to enable seamless self-service capabilities.

As we transition to full-scale production, we are expanding our team by bringing on both full-time employees and external vendors to support the automation journey. The full-time employee in this position will be responsible for overseeing the following key areas:

---Provide guidance and leadership to vendors on T-Mobile's architecture.

---Participate in automation initiatives for functions that fall outside the scope of the vendor's Statement of Work (SOW).

---After the vendor's maintenance period concludes, we will assume full responsibility for the automation processes and work to continuously improve them.

Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the team to develop and enhance Terraform automation processes, ensuring optimal infrastructure management and efficiency. You will also provide guidance and oversight to our vendors, ensuring their code adheres to T-Mobile's best practices and standards. As we continue to evolve our Network architecture, you will play a key role in enabling automation.

Your contributions will include:

  • Manage Source code and CI/CD pipelines in Gitlab.
  • Contributes to designs to implement new ideas which utilize new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service.
  • Review existing designs and processes to highlight better ways to complete existing workload more effectively.
  • Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions.
  • Continuously learns and teaches others existing and new technologies.
  • Contributes to new and existing technology options that support business goals.
  • Expected to independently develop automation using Terraform. Understands the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.
  • Interact with system engineers to define system requirement and/or necessary requirements for automation.
  • Writes basic documentation on how technology works. Creates clear documentation for new code and systems used.
  • Documenting systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager level.

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Computer Science (Required)
    • Experience in automating using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Restful API, Python, Gitlab and some System Administrator of RHEL.
    • Comfortable in writing code for production.
    • 4+ years in Datacenter Network Automation and Architecture.

Generate procedures, change records, and other documents as required. Linux and Network knowledge. (Required)

          Base Pay Range: $100,100 - $180,600

          Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

          The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

          At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
